On Wednesday the 20th to Friday the 22nd of September, our TY group stayed in Delphi in Connemara. On Wednesday we were divided into two groups, half went surfing and my group did High Ropes. First we had to put on our harnesses and helmets at the adventure hub. Then we walked to the high ropes and the instructors explained the activities to us. First, me and three others had to climb up a poll and all stand on the tiny platform on top. We had to hold hands and lean back all at the same time. We couldn't do it and we all fell off. Next there was a tightrope wee had to cross, holding onto ropes above us. The we had to climb up again and walk across a wooden beam without anything to hold onto. The last activity was to climb up a poll onto another platform and jump off, trying to hut two balls in front of you. The high ropes were fun but scary for anyone who has a fear of heights. For the evening activity we climbed through tunnels trying to find our way out. We also went on a walk. The next day we took part in the Gaisce Adventure walk. It was 27km. We were walking for five hours. We stopped at the tope of the mountain to have lunch for about 40 minutes. When we came back to the centre we took part in a campfire as an entire year. We all sang songs together and had a lot of fun. On our final day in Delphi my group went surfing. I enjoyed the surfing the most. We learned a lot about safety in the water and had a lot of fun. None of us were very good at surfing but the goal was to stand up on the board. I stood up three times. Over all I thought that our trip to Delphi was very fun. I really enjoyed the activities we took part in! I enjoyed playing soccer in the adventure hub and getting closer to others in my year. I thought that it was a very worthwhile trip and I would definitely do it again!
